Jeweler Certifications and Scholarships
Jewelry Design and Crafting Certifications and Diplomas
This post will be updated as I come across new information and jewelry related education resources. If you desire to achieve a higher education in jewelry design and crafting, this will be a good starting point.
The American School of Jewelry started operations in 2000. Since then, it has trained and graduated thousands of students. They offer a wide variety of courses including…Jewelry Design, Stone Setting, Certified Bench Jeweler, Certified Master Jeweler, Diamond Grading, CAD Design and more.
The school is directed by Edgardo Zargon. He is an experienced jewelry designer, and was the first jeweler to receive the highest certification available in the United States when he became the first Certified Master Jeweler in the State of Florida.
This is an established certification awarded by “Jewelers of America”. It is only awarded after a thorough testing of jewelry crafting and design knowledge and skills. Jewelers of America is the largest jeweler organization in the United States and represents more than 11,000 jewelry stores.
GIA offers scholarships for its Gemology an Jewelry Manufacturing Arts programs. They also provide a list of sources who offer jeweler related scholarships that range from $450 to $2500
